Karatu Secondary School

We Learn Through Practice

Education is an important tool for development from an individual to a nation, The pace of development in many nations is enhanced by education as said by the late Father of the nation”….…intellectuals have a special contribution to make to the development of our nation, and to Africa. And I am asking that their knowledge, and the greater understanding that they should possess, should be used for the benefit of the society of which we are all members.”

Julius Kambarage Nyerere, from his book Uhuru na Maendeleo (Freedom and Development), 1973.

our government has also done a great deal to ensure that its people have access to education.Since independence the government of Tanzania has implemented many programs aimed at improving education infrastructure and quality.
The existance of Karatu secondary school is one of the outcomes of the implementation of the nations education plans, since its establishment as a joint project between the evangelical lutheran church of Tanzania and the government of Tanzania Karatu secondary school has been extending academic, moral, and emotional prepartions to youths insuring their readness to fight against the three enemies of the nation as identified by the Late Mwalimu Julius K.Nyerere, the First President and Father of our nation, namely Poverty,Ignorance and diseases.

This school is also a symbol of our national unity as it has grown up with students from all over the country and with different characters derived from differences in economic status, religion and even upbringing but treated rightly under the stable school rules and regulations of which our common say is “JOINING KARATU SECONDARY SCHOOL IS AN OPTION BUT FOLLOWING ITS RULES AND REGULATION IS NOT AN OPTION,BUT A” MUST”

The school community i.e the school board, teaching staff, non teaching staff and students is working coperatively and tirelessly to make sure that the product of this school be the positive change makers in their family, society, the nation and the world at large, and so we agree with the first South African President that “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”

To facilitate easy communication with parents, guardians and other stakeholders, the secondary school community has found it helpful to open this site that will be used to deliver various school information, including results, announcements to parents and students and other school, academic and social development reports that should in public. So I’m glad to welcome you to this website hoping that you will find it useful.
